Homes 121: This conflict needs divine intervention for sure

The quarrel between two groups of residents in Homes 121, an upscale society in Sector 121, Noida, does not seem to be dying down. The issue is a semi-built temple within the society where one group wants the Hanuman idol to be shifted and the other wants it to remain where it is. Those who are against the relocation of the idol on October 13 wrote to the district magistrate, SSP of Noida, chairman of Noida Authority and the builder asking for status quo of the temple.

In its letter to the authorities, this group has named four residents of the society who want the idol relocated — Vinay Dubey, Vidhur Mittal, Abhisek Maheshwari and Abhay Pandey, all residents of towers E, G and U.

In their letter, residents have urged authorities to intervene and stop the relocation of the idol. They have also asked authorities to cordon off the area where the rival group wants the idol relocated.

Mayank Singhal, the complainant in this case, told City Spidey that the rival group wants the temple constructed in an area that is just 25 square yard in size. He said, “If the temple is made here, it will lead to chaos within the society, as this place is small and also very close to the gate.”

When City Spidey contacted Vidhur Mittal, a resident who supports the temple’s relocation, he did not want to comment on the issue. Abhay Pandey, another resident from this camp, said, “My name is being unnecessarily dragged into the matter. It is up to the builder to take the final call on where a temple has to be constructed.”

Satyaveer Singh, project director of Homes 121, told City Spidey that he had not received a complaint yet and thus was not in a position to comment on the issue. He added, “No resident is allowed to construct a temple anywhere in the society premises. This right rests only with the builder.”

Homes 121 is a joint project of Ajnara India Ltd and Gulshan Homz Pvt Ltd. The society is yet to be handed over to residents. There are 1,724 flats in the society and about 80 per cent of the flats have been occupied by residents.
