Dwarka: Parents protest at Presidium school Parents association protesting in front of the gate of the school

Presidium Parents Association (PPA) staged a protest against the school administration at Presidium school gate on October 15. According to PPA members, the Dwarka school had issued a circular that said students whose parents had refused to pay the increased fee would not be able to avail the school's transportation services. Moreover, according to association members the letter stated if the parents refused to pay the additional fee even after that, their wards will be rusticated from the school.

"We want a transparency in the system," said Aparajita Gautam, president of PPA. "They have added several charges to the school fee that make no sense. We are not going to pay any such amount till we receive a formal directive from the Directorate of Education. We are awaiting HC's decision on refund of the entire increased fee amount since 2009. We will not stop till we get justice."

Some parents said the school discriminated against students who were not fluent in English. Another member, Sunil Varma, said the school had asked parents to pay Rs 1,200 for annual day and refused to provide receipts for the sum.

According to the other members of the association, they chose to carry out the protest on October 15 to reach maximum parents, who were coming in for parents-teachers meeting on the day. "We registered about 300 parents and made them aware of the school's tyranny. We asked them to join hands for justice," said Vipin Agrawal, vice-president, PPA.
