Raj Nagar RWA demands a say in area's development
The RWA of Raj Nagar has demanded that Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) consult resident bodies (AOAs and RWAs) before planning or carrying out development in their area. Residents have also demanded that the priority of issues to be taken up by civic bodies be decided by RWAs. The demands were discussed with GDA at a meeting on October 15.

The meeting was presided over by TP Tyagi, president of AOA Federation Ghaziabad. Vijay Yadav, vice-chairman of GDA, and Ashu Verma, the mayor of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC), were also present at the meeting.

Since the meeting ended without reaching a conclusion, City Spidey got in touch with Yadav after the meeting. He, however, shot down the resident demand with a rather ambiguous remark.

"We are open to suggestions and ideas, but we do not seek recommendations from resident bodies," said Yadav.

Mayor Ashu Verma also told City Spidey that he was open to suggestions from residents and that they could expect his full support.
