DDA has finally started beautification of the neighbourhood park behind Sadbhavna Apartments in Sector 22, Dwarka. Currently, underground cables are being laid along the park's walkways. According to DDA, the work is expected to be completed by November 30.
"We want the park to be the best in Dwarka," said SS Mann, a member of Sadbhavna Apartments' managing committee and vice-president of Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS). "DDA started work after we lodged several complaints with them. It has a budget of about Rs 12 lakh for the park's electrification alone. We are thankful to the Authority for acting on our complaints."
Residents of Sadbhavna Apartments had carried out a tree-planting drive in August, thanks to which the park boasts plants such as bottle brush, gooseberry, Tecoma, scarlet bush (Hamelia patens) and other varieties. All plants have been protected by metal tree guards, which will now be painted green.
"We are happy that we will have a beautiful park by winter," said Mann. "We have also suggested hedges and landscapes."
"We at Sadbhavna are focussed on keeping the surroundings clean and green," said Jyoti Prasad, president of the society's managing committee. "We will ensure the park stays beautiful and well maintained."
