The Bangtan Boys BTS created a prominent landmark in India by their popularity. The popular South Korean band BTS, a growing fan ground in India, has made its way onto a Central Board of Secondary Education exam paper (CBSE). In the English paper for CBSE Class 9th students in the 2021-2022 session, a question about the group was asked. Students shared images of the paper on Twitter, revealing that the first question in the English paper - a comprehensive passage - had BTS and its popularity as its subject.
Over the decade, BTS has become an international sensation. From 'butter' and other albums crossing millions of views shares and getting awards on global platforms, the boys have become routine. The ARMY got emotional about this news. The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, in India recently conducted class 9th English exams. In the exam paper, there was a question on BTS that made BTS fans extremely happy.
The CBSE class 9th English paper included a comprehension essay on the Bangtan Boys, including a synopsis of how K-pop began and gradually took over. Other K-pop groups mentioned in the comprehension include EXO, Stray Kids, Blackpink, Twice, and Girls' Generation. However, the primary paragraph focuses on BTS and their accomplishments in such a short period.
"But while many Korean bands have become popular worldwide, BTS is the top K-pop phenomenon. Over the last decade, BTS has sold millions of albums and racked up billions of YouTube views and Spotify streams. In addition, they've become one of South Korea's biggest exports- bringing the equivalent of billions of US dollars to the nation," another part of the passage read.
Here are the overwhelmed responses by the students, who got emotional after this news.
