The sun is shining brighter and hotter, and most of us are preparing to hide from it. As a result, more caution is required throughout the warmer months. This is the time to drink a lot of liquid and eat right. Here are some things that you should avoid during summer and also some of the things you must indulge in.

1. Protect yourself from UV rays

Although the sun is a great source of Vitamin D and energy. You would be well advised to stay in the shade, especially during the midday hours between 12 noon and 4 pm as it is the hottest time of the day. Wear clothing that covers your arms and legs, apply sunscreen with 40+ SPF.

2. Stay away from alcohol

When it's hot outside, you sweat more, and drinking alcohol can lead you to lose fluids due to increased urine. Dehydration can occur as a result of this combination. In the summer, drink lemonade, buttermilk, fresh juices, buttermilk, lassi, and more water to keep yourself hydrated.

3. Avoid eating oily food

These foods can cause your body temperature to rise dramatically, making them better suited to eating in the winter rather than the summer.

5. Avoid Caffeine and carbonated beverages

Both tea and coffee have a lot of caffeine in them. While coffee in moderation is beneficial to your health, consuming it in excess during the summer months might cause your body to overheat. Caffeine is not good for your health, this can also increase the risk of dehydration, therefore it's best to avoid it in the heat.

The carbohydrate beverages are heavy in calories, carbs, sugar, and fructose, all of which can contribute to weight gain and obesity. Carbonated sugary drinks make you thirstier than you were previously. Water, coconut water, and fresh fruit juices should be substituted for these sweet beverages.

So, instead of these heat-producing drinks, try a tall glass of lemonade, fresh juices, buttermilk or lassi.

6. Staying active as much as possible

Summer is an excellent time for people to get some exercise. Early mornings and late evenings are the best times to work out during the summer. Physical activity aids in the improvement of mental health, the prevention of obesity, the enhancement of fitness, and the improvement of sleep.
