Hand over maintenance already, Amrapali Village!
The board members of Indirapuram's Amrapali Village RWA (AVRWA) are unhappy about the builder's delay in handing over maintenance duties to the RWA.

Rakesh Kumar, general secretary of AVRWA, said representatives of the Amrapali group had agreed to hand over maintenance duties by the second week of October. At a meeting held in August, the builder had promised the handover in the presence of GDA officals and RWA members. "Although the builder started the process in September, it is still far from complete," said Kumar.

AVRWA representatives said the builder had only provided the details of maintenance service providers till now. The builder is yet to provide a layout plan of the society, NOCs from various government departments, the name-transfer certificate for the society's electricity connection, the MoU for the handover and the Interest Free Maintenance Service, or IFMS, amount deposited by flat owners.

"The handover is under way and we have already shared most of the documents with the RWA," said NN Singh, assistant vice-president of the Amrapali group. "The IFMS amount will be transferred to the RWA in three monthly instalments starting January. We have already provided the NOC for the society's first phase and have applied for the second phase. It should be available soon."

When asked why the handover deadline could not be met, Singh blamed AVRWA's demand to complete the society's second gate for the delay. "We are aiming to complete the handover process at the earliest," added Singh.

Speaking to City Spidey, YN Chaudhary, head of GDA's enforcement cell, said there was always a possibility of delay while handing over maintenance responsibilities. However, he maintained that in case of a dispute or a disagreement between the two parties, GDA would intervene.
