Dwarka: Volunteers promoting Mithila script honoured by community activists

Community volunteers from Delhi NCR who are promoting the script of Maithili language while being associated with an NGO Doorvakasata Mission Mithilakshar Abhiyan, based in Dwarka were honoured by the activists from the community. Volunteers were honoured in an event organised by the NGO. About 43 volunteers (prasikchak) from various sectors and societies in Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Dwarka, East Delhi and other parts of different states were honoured for their voluntary contribution to the promotion of the language and script.

Veereshwar Jha, Coordinator of the NGO said, “These volunteers have been making efforts by giving free training to impart the knowledge of the script of Maithili language. We just acknowledged them and their efforts.”

As informed by Veereshwar Jha, the NGO gives a three months free training to the community people from Mithilanchal who are in India and abroad as well. “We want to save the script and promote it so we are making our efforts,” says Jha.
