A cleaner Dwarka for sure, as Dwarka Forum continues to guide municipality sanitation staff.

This is what happens when resident body works with the SDMC broom brigade!

Sanjeev Kumar, deputy commissioner of Najafgarh zone, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, has assured Dwarka residents that Dwarka Forum will continue to support SDMC to keep the streets clean.

Dissatisfied with the quality of the sub-city's sanitation work, Dwarka Forum (DF) has been guiding SDMC staff for about a week so better results can be achieved.

"DF's efforts in helping SDMC clean up Dwarka is commendable," said Kumar, when he visited the joint clean-up campaign in Dwarka's Sector 10 on October 25. "Their joint efforts have produced great results and need to be continued."

Madhuri Varshney and P Menon, president and treasurer of DF respectively, were also present at the campaign. "Our efforts are working," said Varshney. "It is becoming easier with every passing day, as we are now familiar with SDMC's sanitary staff."

DF members have prepared a weekly action plan and shared it with the sanitation staff, so they are aware which locations they will target when.

"Today we cleaned the area from Prerna Apartments to Rashtrapati Bhavan Apartments in Sector 10," said Menon, DF treasurer and a resident of Ashirvad Apartments. "Tomorrow we will be hitting Sector 12. Both DF members and SDMC's sanitation staff are aware of when to meet and where. We are going about it in an organised manner, taking one week at a time — and the results are there for everyone to see."
