Dwarka- Water crisis in DDA pockets, Sector 12 makes lives tough for residents

Dwarka: Residents of different pockets at Sector 12 have been suffering from a water crisis these days. As gathered, they have been facing a shortage in water supply, and are compelled to buy water from tankers.

Anjana Sinha, President of Dwarkadheesh Apartments, Sector 12, pocket 2 says, “The water supply is less and irregular. Apart from that, the water pressure is also low and due to this, tail end flats in the society are not getting this water too. There are about 40 to 50 such flats. We are not the only pocket facing the crisis but pockets 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are also affected. We have asked Delhi Jal Board to look into the subject and resolve the issue immediately as our lives have become difficult because of this."

Residents at Sector 12 pocket 7,  Rihayashi Apartments inform us that the supply got affected since the beginning of Summers this year. Ved Prakash, Ex-president of RWA says, “These days we are getting water on alternate days and you can imagine the condition. That supply too is not sufficient because the pressure is low and the society is unable to get sufficient water to use on a daily basis. Dependency on water tankers has increased. For the last couple of weeks, the problems have aggravated. We request the DJB to work upon a solution for the issue soon.”

Societies RWAs shared that the problem of insufficient water supply arrives every Summer because of the use of only the Underground Reservoir (UGR) for the supply of water to all the pockets. “ I feel that one UGR and supply to six pockets is the cause and the solution is to increase the number of UGRs. We demand a separate UGR for our pocket and for that we will raise our voice,” said Anjana Sinha.

On the subject, DJB officials said that they are making efforts to provide ample water supply at DDA pockets in Dwarka.
