Dwarka celebrates Rongali Bihu with colourful attires and cultural performances

Dwarka: A grand celebration of Rongali Bihu was organized on the evening of April 16, 2022, by the residents of Pragjyotishpur Co-operative Group Housing society in Dwarka Sec 10.

The event started with traditional lighting of lamp, followed by beautiful performances by the residents of the society. The Assamese residents performed Bihu dance, jeng bihu and Husori during the event. There were performances of other folk dances as well, such as Ghumar of Rajasthan and Bhangra of Punjab as well.

A ramp walk was also organised at the event in which, the residents dressed up in traditional Assamese attires and walked down the ramp to flaunt their dresses.

One of the organizers, Monti Dhyani says, "This time, we tried to highlight the cultural harmony of our society. Not only Assamese residents, but residents from all other cultural backgrounds also put efforts to make the event a success."

Hibu Tamang, Joint Commissioner of Police/SPUNER cum Nodal officer for NE people and Ghritashri Bhuyan Narula, Social Worker DPNER (Delhi Police Northeast Representative) were the chief guests on the occasion.
