Noida: In view of increasing covid cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has again made it compulsory to wear a mask on Monday, April 18 in six NCR districts. The six districts include Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr and Baghpat.

In the last 24 hours, 24 new Covid cases have been confirmed in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district. The residents of Noida have come in support of wearing masks in public places. Rakhi Sinha, a resident of Sector 28, Noida says, “In the purview of the rising Covid cases, I welcome this decision of mandating the masks in public places in Noida. General public wellness is most important at this juncture. Board & competitive exams are coming up in the last week of April. The candidates need an overall safe environment to write their paper.”

Brajesh Sharma, a resident of Antriksh Golf View says, “It is a good decision by the Uttar Pradesh government. As we all know that IIT Delhi considered it a fourth wave, so we have to take extra precautions. This decision came on time before the 12th class board exams. However, it should be implemented on the ground, not only in  papers.”

Rajiva Singh, President of NOFAA says, “We all welcome this decision. However, there are some points that should be the priority of the government to curb Covid cases. Vaccinations programs for the first two doses followed by booster doses should be taken up on priority. Vaccinations for 12+ should be further accelerated through vaccination programs in schools.”
