Noida: On the occasion of Earth Day on April 22, 2022, NOFAA along with Bhavishya NGO, organised a cycle rally to encourage people to develop behavioral changes for protecting the environment. A workshop was also organised to create awareness among the people about climate change.

The cycle rally started at 6 am from Noida, Sector 71, Swami Vivekanand Park via Noida Sector 50 and Sector 34, and ended at around 8 am at Noida Stadium, Sector 21A.

Afterward, a social awareness program was also organised to raise awareness. Participants signed banners and wrote slogans with an oath to save the environment. After this, a painting competition for children was also organised and with screening of some short films.

Rajiva Singh, NOFAA President says, “We in condominiums need to create awareness among residents and especially children by organizing painting competitions, showing movies about the environment, displaying posters, conducting small workshops, and sharing messages about climate change on social media. Also, such awareness programs should not just be restricted for a day but should become part of our daily routines for sustainability. We all need to jointly contribute to making our city environment friendly with sustainable solutions.”

Nisha Rai, a cyclist, and General Secretary, NOFAA zone 2 say, “We are creating awareness to reduce carbon footprints and make our environment clean. There is a request to the Noida Authority to start the service of E-cycle in Noida. It is very important to use fewer  plastic bags to save our earth.”

Vikash Jha, President of  Bhavishya NGO says, “In this cycle rally, being in lines with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 years of independence, we used 75 cycles to rally through Noida. Our group members were very happy and took an oath on Earth day to do their bit to save this planet.”

Om Naryan Singh, another cyclist from Noida says, “About 500 citizens of Noida took an oath with us, which makes us very proud. During the drive, we spread awareness among the citizens to not to use plastic bags and do not waste water.”
