Dwarka: Residents complain of misbehaving at Sector 6 market

Dwarka: In the parking of the market of Sector 6, Dwarka, people have reported incidents of misbehaving. The issue is picking heat in the sub-city after Nidhi Gupta, a resident of Sector 10 shared a letter to police and administration complaining about the incident that happened with her.

Nidhi Gupta, in the letter, tells about she was misbehaved with at the parking lot of Sector 6 market. The letter is circulating in several resident groups and the residents are sharing similar experiences.

A similar incident was reported twice in the last week by two members of Seniors Hub Dwarka. Ravi Jaitley, general secretary of Seniors Hub Dwarka, says, “What happened with our members is unfortunate and sad. Our members are mostly senior citizens and such behaviour is completely unacceptable. We will be highlight the incidents before the authorities concerned."

Jaitley also shared a message by one of the victims describing an incident that happened on April 24, 2022. The message says, "At about 9.45 am, my son and I went to Sector 6 market through gate number 2 and parked our car opposite Avon Salon. There was no one to give parking receipt at the time. When we returned to our car at around 10:30, two young men came and asked us for parking fee. We told them that no one was there to give us receipt but my son still gave them 10 rupees. They demanded twenty rupees and we refused to pay extra. As we were leaving, they started verbally abusing us and threatening us. They misbehaved with me as well. "

In several resident groups, people are sharing similar experiences and demanding authorities to take action. President of All Dwarka President Federation (ADRF), Ajit Swami says, “ What happened with the visitors is unfortunate and not acceptable. Authorities must take such things into notice and take action. We will be following up the subject with the concerned authorities.”
