Mayfair Residency: Poor quality water and inadequate power, a daily struggle

Greater Noida: Facilities such as clean water and electricity are considered basic to sustain life. However, these have become sparse for the residents of Mayfair Residency, a group housing society in Greater Noida West. They are raising the issue of poor water quality and inadequate electricity supply in society.

Residents of the society also shared a tweet, “ना पीने का साफ़ पानी है न सुचारू बिजली
मेफ़ेयर में मचा है हाहाकार @UPGovt @myogiadityanath @PMOIndia @narendramodi please, hame Marne se bachaiye hum mar jayenge na rera sunta hai na @OfficialGNIDA कृपया मदद करें.”

Residents mention that the poor quality of water has led to people falling sick in society. Apart from this, they are facing a lot of difficulties due to frequent electricity cuts and power fluctuation. The residents allege that the power fluctuations are damaging the electrical appliances of society residents.

Prateet Baijal, a resident of the society says, “We are living in the 21st century and deprived of the basic facilities like water and electricity. These are the essential facilities to live life. Residents allege that the water tanks on the rooftop are dirty. RO’s filter is getting damaged. Children are facing the issue of stomach disorders. Coming to electricity, they say that society has no electricity grid. The society has 12 towers, out of which, residents allege that eight towers are still under construction. Around 70 families are presently living in towers A, B,  C, and D.

Ravi Chaudhry, another resident says, “Unhealthy water is the major problem in our society and nobody is listening to us. We have been raising the issue of electricity and water for the last two years. However, no action is taken so far by the Greater Noida Authority or a builder of the society.”

A resident on the condition of anonymity says, “More than 70 families live in this society and everyone is unhappy with the infrastructure of the society. The society is under construction but builders can provide good quality water and electricity. Only 4 towers are working and 8 towers are under construction. The builder is not able to handle 4 towers, I wonder how will he be able to handle the rest of the 8 towers in future?"

CitySpidey has tried to reach out to the builder team of Mayfair Residency. We will update the story once we get their comments.
