Celebrating 101 years of Satyajit Ray with SRFF 2022

An illustrator, a calligrapher, an author, a music composer, a screenwriter, a filmmaker, and a man who changed the course of Indian cinema forever, Satyajit Ray, would have turned 101 today. There is no introduction that could do justice to the many talents of Ray. The man was an institution in himself, an auteur in the true sense.

Throughout his career, he made several films that went on to become cult classics and made their way into the lectures of cinema schools. Some of his classics include the Apu Triology, Charulatha, Jalsaghar, Mahanagar, Devi among others. It's fairly possible that you might not have seen most of Ray's cinema. However, now you have the perfect opportunity to witness some of Ray's best works at Satyajit Ray Film Festival, 2022.

The festival is being organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and is a rare opportunity to see the magic of Ray in its purest form, on the big screen. You can go to the screenings if you're in Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, New Delhi, Chennai or Bengaluru on May 2, May 3 and May 4.

The films to be screened include the likes of Sonar Kella, Ghare Baire, Jalsaghar, Agantuk, Ganashatru, Seemabaddha and of course, Pather Panchali. There are some documentaries as well which will be screened.

Here is the full schedule across the cities-
