Fusion Homes: Residents troubled with an utter lack of basic amenities

GreNo West: The residents of Fusion homes are grappling with a lack of basic amenities in their society. On May 1, 2022, they decided to take the matter to the roads of GreNo as they staged a protest against the builder concerned. In the scorching sunlight, the residents were seen on the Ek Murti Circle voicing their opinion and alleging that the society lacks basic facilities even after they are paying hiked maintenance charges.

Residents shared that the maintenance charge was Rs 1.80 with GST. However, on March 29, 2022, the builder sent a letter to the residents and raised the maintenance charges to Rs 2.65, which was applicable from April 1, 2022. Residents alleged that the builder did not give any notice to the residents or discussed the matter with them, before raising the prices.

According to the residents, even after increasing the maintenance charges, the society still lacks several basic amenities and the builder is not paying heed to their requests. Residents say that the prevalent issues of the society include seepage in the pillars and lack of safety in the society. They also complain that gates number 2 and 3 of the society are not operational and there is also the issue of lack of sanitation in the society.

The basement parking of this society allegedly lacks proper lighting and cleanliness. There is a lot of dust and dirt visible all the time in the parking. There is a lack of signage and mirrors, at any time, a major accident can happen.

As per the residents, the letter has been issued for structural audit but there has been no reply from the builder. The maintenance team is also allegedly not working for the betterment of the residents.

Arun Awasthi, a resident of Fusion Home, says, “The guards don't even know what their job is. Anyone can come without our knowledge, and there is a fear of life. Street dogs live comfortably here."

He continues, "Why does one take flat in society? For security obviously? But here, there is no security. Anyone can enter the society premises from any gate. At the gate number 2 and 3, there is no guard posted. Plus, there is no intercom facility too on these gates. Even if the guard sits at other gates, they will not even enquire about anything before sending any visitor inside. What kind of security is this?"

Kunal Kaushik, a resident of Fusion Homes says, “We are raising our voice against the builder. The whole society's parking has been converted into a dumping yard. The residents of the society have raised their voices against the unethical practice of throwing the garbage in the basement parking. The smell of the garbage lying for months releases a filthy smell, the residents of F tower and L tower are living their life in the smell. Many times the small children and elders get fever due to this.”

Sanjeev Shukla, a resident says, “There is no fogging work ever seen in the society. A lot of water has been collected in the basement parking and a lot of mosquitoes and insects are breeding here. Cracks on roofs, pillars and walls are a common problem here but they don't want to work on it. All the substandard staff are in maintenance. Children's park is in bad condition”

Jeevan Singh, a resident says, “There are many big and small cracks in all the flats of the society. I live on the 15h floor and the cracks are scary. Who can forget the recent Gurugram building collapse? We are demanding a structural audit and nobody is hearing us.”

Residents also allege that the builder doesn't pay heed to their complains and talks rudely to them. We contacted the maintenance office of the Fusion homes. Radheyshyam Pandey, Facility Manager, Fusion homes say, "Building the apartment and selling the apartments is an easy task but maintaining it not at all easy task. There are approximately 250 families who live in this society. If the builder has not done anything, then how can so many people live here?"

On being asked about the debris dumped in the basement parking, he says, "The debris has to be collected somewhere as we are instructed by the Greater Noida Authority not to throw the debris on the open roads. The construction work is going on in almost all the flats, 3 to 4 trolleys are working to remove the debris, we are paying for this too. We agree that the debris is lying in the basement. Within a month this debris will be cleared."
