GreNo: On May 4, 2022, Greater Noida Industrial Development Association's new Chief executive Officer, Surendra Singh, assumed his duty and in a media addressal, he ensured that the problems of the residents will be resolved soon. After discussing about GreNo's prevalent issues, he also said that work on those issues of GreNo will start soon.

Foremost, he said that he plans to construct gates on the entrance of Greater Noida to welcome anyone who visits the city. He further said, "Special attention will be given to road safety. Necessary steps will be taken within the next one month to prevent road accidents. For this, the officials have been instructed. Necessary steps will be taken to prevent road accidents at the earliest."

There will also be special focus on the greenery of the area. Plantation drives will be organised and the dead green belts will be revived with regular watering, as told by the new CEO. He said, “Small trees have been planted along the roads, green belts and parks in the city. You have to wait for them to grow up. Now special attention will be given to the greenery in the city." Along with this, the parks and open gyms in the city will also be monitored and the residents will be asked about their feedbacks.

The CEO has also laid stress on paying special attention to the public problems. He says, “All officers and employees of the Authority will have to pay attention to public problems. If any officer or employee is found not doing their duty properly, strict action will be taken against them."

Several other issues of the city were also discussed in detailed. While talking about the issue of insufficient street lights, CEO Singh said, "37,000 LED lights have been installed in Greater Noida city. We intend that the LED lights in the city should run on the solar system. This will significantly reduce the power consumption.”

Along with the betterment of the city, CEO Singh will also be focusing on the sanitation and development of the villages in and around Greater Noida. He said, “Sanitation system will be improved in the villages. Interaction between villagers and agencies will be done, which will make this system better."

On the subject of illegal constructions in the city, CEO Singh ensured strict action. He said, "All illegal constructions going on in Greater Noida City will be demolished. For this, I have spoken to Police Commissioner Alok Singh.”

On the very prominent issue of builder buyers conflicts in Greater Noida, the new CEO said, “We are going to frame a manual for home buyers and builders very soon, which everyone has to follow. Whoever violates the rules, whether it is a builder or a buyer, action will be taken against everyone."

CEO Singh also talked about setting up vending zones for the street vendors. He said, “We are preparing to set up vending zones, which have not yet been created anywhere in NCR. In Greater Noida, where there will be vending zones, there will be provision for Wi-Fi and a music system. There will be suitable space for the shopkeepers to sit and also the customers will be comfortable as a lot of space for standing, walking and sitting will be provided. For this, the authority team is working”.
