Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Gurgaon to address a gathering on the occasion of Haryana Day. Here are a few snapshots from the day.

Fifty years ago, Haryana became a state on November 1. To mark the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram. Over 50,000 people -- including 3,000 VIPs and 800 VVIPs -- took part in the mega event. A number of central ministers, chief ministers from other states and important political leaders from across the country also took part in the celebrations.

PM Modi does a recce of the celebration venue, flanked by the the chief minister (on his left) and the governor. Various cultural exhibitions and performances were lined up for the evening.  

 

 PM Modi looks on as celebrations are on in full swing and a colourful cultural performance under way. 

 

PM Modi honours Rio Paralympics silver medalist Deepa Malik, and hands over a cash award of Rs 4 crore to her. He is accompanied by the governor, the chief minister and the sports and youth affairs minister, Anil Vij (right).
