Nothing compares to the love a mother for her child. It is unconditional and probably the purest form of love to ever exist. Words fall short for expressing that love, however, we have a poetess who, with the magic of her words, talks about the deepest of our emotions.
Alka Sinha, a renowned poetess, while talking about the relationship between a mother and child, says, "A mother's love is not bound to physical presence, it is so strong that when my daughter used to live in a hostel and used to get worried about something, I’d get the sense of the feelin’g that my child is in trouble.”
She says, “If you are away from your mother, you should know that you’re still the most precious person for her. Try to express you love to your mother as that will make her happy even if the two of you are separated by distance.”

मां मुझे याद आ रही थी
अलका सिन्हा
जब तुझे मैं गोद में थामे हुए सहला रही थी
तब बड़ी शिद्दत से मेरी माँ मुझे याद आ रही थी।
वो तेरी मासूमियत और तोतली बातें
जिनकी खातिर मैं जगी थी अनगिनत रातें
नींद कोसों दूर थी, तू स्वप्न बन भरमा रही थी।
तब बड़ी शिद्दत से मेरी मां मुझे याद आ रही थी।
थीं तेरी आँखें मुंदी और होंठ भी चुपचाप थे
सिहर उठती थी अचानक, देह तेरी ताप से
कौन सिरहाने में बैठी, मैं तो दफ़्तर जा रही थी।
तब बड़ी शिद्दत से मेरी मां मुझे याद आ रही थी।
हाँ, उसी ने मुझको पाला और तुझको
थामकर उंगली चलाया नासमझ को
थी वही जो वेद में, मंत्रों-ऋचा में गा रही थी।
