Dwarka Hello Moms celebrated Mother's Day at Green Valley Apartment

Dwarka: Dwarka Hello Moms (DHM), a Dwarka-based NGO made up of Dwarka ladies,  celebrated Mother's Day on May 8, 2022, at Green Valley Apartment Community Hall, Dwarka Sector-22. It was a cultural evening full of dance, music, and a skit, which saw spirited participation from all sections of the community.

The guest of honour of the event is Sudha Sinha, Dr. (Capt) Anjali Mehta, and Saroj Madhava who graced the celebration with their esteemed presence. And they all are welcomed by the founder of DHM Rajalakshmi Kurup. The chief guest on the occasion was DCP Dwarka, but he failed to make it to the event.

The celebration started with the performance of Saraswati Vandana by Shubhashree Mullick, followed by the lighting of a lamp and speeches by guests of honour.

The guest of honour Saroj Madhava, Presiden of Delhi Kannada ladies club, said "Every mother can start their journey to be independent at any age and it's a must for every woman to have their own identity. I congratulate all the members of Dwarka Hello Moms for helping the women and the children from the underprivileged sections of society through their skill development. She encouraged all present to keep moving forward and be more and more successful in their lives."

Dr. Anjali Mehta, Director of Vasundhara, Founder of Sagar Trust, said " I feel very happy to be a part of this celebration and congratulate all the women entrepreneurs for their work and success. From five of them to hundreds of women, we all are now a family who supports the dreams of women and gives wings to the youth of Dwarka. I wish Happy Mother's Day to everyone who came here to support us".

An exhibition of handmade jewelry made by the women of the NGO was set up at the entrance of the hall. The Teachers of DHM performed Jerusalema, a well-known South African song for the Health Workers, Doctors and dying patients.

Monika Aggarwal (50), working as a teacher at DHM says, "I will be very lucky to be a part of DHM group and I'm able to help women and kids to fulfill their dreams and help in their journey to be independent".

Subhashree Mallick (46), working as a computer teacher at DHM says, "I love doing social work it gives me happiness to help people. I'm working as a social worker for the last 20 years and I complete 7 years with DHM. My inspiration for working for people came from my mother because she also worked as one".

Saroj Sharma (62), Joint sectoral and tailoring teacher at DHM says, " It really felt great to help someone in making their identity. When I see the smile of achievement on the faces of the people I have helped it makes me feel proud of them and myself".

The NGO kids performed the song “School chaley hum”. A skit called 'Ma' was performed by the women of the NGO with a clear message to treat daughter and daughter-in-law in the same manner.

Rajalakshmi Kurup one of the founders announced her retirement and handed over her responsibility to Seema Bhalla who will be the new President. Seema Bhalla also ended the event by giving a vote of thanks and thank all members for coming and supporting DHM and attending the event. All the participants were given certificates and the guests were given plants.
