Delhi: Delhiites are already exhausted by the rising temperature and the incessant heat. Bringing more worrisome news on this front, the IMD announced that a fresh spell of heatwaves is likely to hit the national capital from May 11 and will continue till May 15, 2022.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in the capital and predicted that the temperature can rise to 44 degrees celsius by May 11. The heatwave is likely to prevail by May 15 as the mitigating weather system may not affect northwest India in the coming week, weather experts of IMD said on May 9, 2022.

The temperature in some areas of Delhi started rising on May 8. The last heatwave which Delhi faced towards the end of April saw temperatures rising to 46-47 degrees celsius in some areas of Delhi.
