25 differently-abled children across India participated in the competition

Noida: Orane Kids organizes the second season of Super Special Chef

Orane Kids School, a school for differently-abled children in Noida sector-51 organized the second season of The Super Special Chef, an online cooking contest for the differently-abled. The competition was among three age groups, 7-10, 11-17, and 18+. The event was held in pan India and was appreciated widely by parents and professionals across the nation.

The winners among all the three categories were 'Guru Goswami'(from Patiala) in the junior age group, Joanne Rodrigues(from Mumbai) in the teen group, and Shubham Taneja (from Omaxe Palm Green Greater Noida) in the 18+ group among 25 differently-abled children who participated in the competition.

According to the Director of Orane Kids School, Sonia Jaitly, “The purpose of this contest is to spot and encourage talent among the differently-abled community. It's fun to cook food and it is also an essential life skill that will be very beneficial for these people."

Simmi Vasu, Principal of Orane Kids School, "At Orane, we endeavour to host events and activities like this, to bring out the skills of the differently-abled and to give them a platform to shine."

Shubham Taneja, who was the winner from the 18+ category says, "I am feeling overwhelmed. I am happy to participate and love cooking."

Shubham's mother says, "I feel proud of my son and it took so much to nurture him this way, at first he uses to get angry and said that cooking is girls work but then I encouraged him for cooking, and now he can cook an awesome plate of honey chili potato and north Indian cuisine."

Janice Rodrigues, mother of Joanne Rodrigues, who won in the 11-17 category says, "We look for opportunities to give exposure to our children. My child has been crowned as 'Teen Chef'. Joanne has been cooking since she was six and now at 14, she has become very adept. We are proud of our child."

Chamanpreet Kaur, Guru's Mom says, "I used to guide him through everything in life. But this victory is complete his own. Participating is important but I am happy my son won."
