According to dietitian Julia Zumpano, from Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit American academic medical centre based in Cleveland, this special antioxidant is present in the skin of grapes and is a major component of grape juice or red wine. Red wine is fermented with the skin of grapes and that is why it contains resveratrol. Just like any other antioxidant, resveratrol also provides tons of health benefits and protects one against many illnesses.

Here are a few benefits of consuming Reservatrol suggested by dietitian Julia Zumpano are-

Increases good cholesterol: HDL, good cholesterol is beneficial for heart health. Consuming resveratrol helps increase the HDL and reduce LDL, the bad cholesterol. According to experts, a diet rich in antioxidants promotes good cholesterol and controls bad cholesterol. This ultimately helps the body fight chronic illnesses.

Reduce blood clotting: According to the Cleveland Clinic, consuming red wine responsibly can work as a blood thinner. Polyphenol's presence can also maintain a blood flow and functions of blood flow resulting in slowing down the blood clotting in vessels.

Positively impacts heart health: Resveratrol is an anti-inflammatory antioxidant that helps protect the body's cells from damage. According to experts, this antioxidant helps with brain and heart inflammation by protecting the lining of blood vessels, reducing the chance of injury and preventing heart stroke.

Good for the brain: Consuming food containing resveratrol can help an individual get neuroprotective qualities. This further helps one with protected brain function and memory.
