Dwarka Forum (DF), a resident body, recently met the area ACP, SK Meena, to acknowledge the timely intervention of Delhi Police in removing encroachments from the Sector 6 and Sector 10 markets. The forum was led by its joint secretary Arvinder Singh Chhatwal.
DF also urged the police to carry out similar drives in other sectors, beginning with Ramphal Chowk Market of Sector 7.
“We requested Meena to remove encroachments from the market near Brahma Apartments, the entry point into Dwarka from Palam. We also want the drive to be carried out regularly to discourage encroachers and squatters,” Chhatwal said.
Law and order issues were also discussed. DF drew the ACP's attention to the growing menace of alcohol consumption after dark in the parks of various sectors.
The forum called for verification of people living in vacant plots and buildings under construction, especially in sectors 8, 17, 19 and 23.
“We have called for routine night patrolling, particularly in the bylanes across the sub-city,” Chhatwal added.
