Noida: Sector-51 residents demand security from threats by anti-social elements

Noida: Residents of sector 51 have long been raising the demand for increased security and night patrolling in the area. This demand has gone up after a recent incident where according to residents, a violent attack was allegedly made on security personnel of sector 51 near D 14 park by anti-social elements who lurk in the vicinity of the housing society. The attack reportedly took place on May 29, 2022, in broad daylight around 1:30 pm. Residents say that this is not the first such attack on security personnel in society.

Residents share that there is a constant threat posed by certain antisocial elements who indulge in some illegal commercial activities near the society. Sanjeev Kumar, General Secretary, RWA SECTOR 51, says, "On May 27, a drunk driver allegedly abused the security guards and threatened to kill them. The driver reached there with 12 of his men. The Police reached the spot in time and the life of the security guard was saved. However, they allege that the driver was released soon from the police station and no answers were given to the RWA again."

The RWA complained to Sector 51 Police that illegal activities such as bootlegging are taking place in the vacant plot lying near D14 park, However, the residents say that Police did not accept their complaint.

Moreover, RWA members allege that some people were caught from this park on May 26, 2022, and handed over to the Police by the security personnel but the Police let them off without any investigation. The RWA also shared that some security guards had quit their job in December 2021 because of these alleged attacks.

Sanjeev Kumar, says, "The D block is adjacent to Hosiyaarpur village and the boundary walls are also not so high. Anyone from that area can enter the sector and engage in illegal activities such as consuming liquor openly. Despite continuous requests to the police, no actions are being taken. There is an atmosphere of fear among the residents of Sector 51. How will the residents be safe if the security personnel are themselves at risk?"

CitySpidey tried to contact sector 51 Police on the matter but there has been no response. We will update the story as soon as we get their comments.
