Dwarka: While passing through sector 14 or sector 21 metro station, you must have come across a blue minibus carrying commuters from the metro station to various locations. The bus, brand new in look, is not private but a public transport bus started by Delhi government to provide last mile connectivity to the residents of Dwarka. The bus which has been running in the sub-city on a trial basis is showing promising results.
As gathered, the bus has been running since last week and is getting a good response. The bus has an AC facility and a wider space as compared to a normal minibus. It commutes from sector 14 metro station to sector 21 metro station via National Law University, IP University, sector 16, sector 17, sector 19, sector 20, sector 22, and sector 23 among other stops. It culminates at sector 21 metro station. It runs from 8 am to 8 pm.
The bus starts from sector 14 metro station at around 8 am. It reaches sector 21 metro station around 8.38 am covering a distance of about 8.7 km in nearly 38 minutes. Again, it takes another 38 minutes to sector 14 at 9: 15 am. With this frequency, the bus completes eight-hour duty while carrying the passengers. The fare of the bus is Rs 10 and Rs 15 as per the distance.
CitySpidey interacted with the driver of the bus to learn some important details. The driver says, “We have started with one bus. People have started using it. More would be added come after screening its result.”
