Dwarka: FORWAS organises plantation drive with community people

Dwarka: A day ahead of World Environment Day which is observed on June 5 every year, FORWAS (Federation of RWAs of Sector 9) organised a plantation program on June 4, 2022, at DDA park number 3, behind Ganpati Apartments Sector 9. The theme of the event was 'Only one earth'. People gathered together to participate in this plantation drive since morning.

Representative of various RWAs in the sector and residents of various societies participated in the event and planted saplings. They also adopted the saplings planted by them to take proper care of them. KS Bhati, President of FORWAS and Ex-president of Ganpati Apartments, Sector 9, says, “We have been carrying such plantations for a long time in this particular park but this was the first one after the pandemic. I am happy to see the spirit in the community for our nature. We will be doing more such community events further.”

General secretary of FORWAS, MK Singh says, “We have a culture of adopting trees that we have planted. This culture should be promoted across Dwarka. I am happy that community came out and joined hands with FORWAS and planted trees for a greener Dwarka.”
