A 4-hour-long power failure in Vedantam Society of Gaur City made the residents come out on the road and protest against the builder. Around 11 pm on May 5, 2022, residents staged a protest against the unavailability of electricity for several hours. As gathered, residents also tried to block the main road to show their anger.

Police from Bisrakh Police Station reached to stop the residents from blocking the streets, but the protest went on till nearly 3 am. Women and children also protested.

The residents said that the unavailability of electricity for 4 hours amidst a continuous excessive heat, compelled them to protest. They allege that the builder is not giving any answers to them despite several complaints. With the generator not there, water crisis is an additional issue for them.

Annu Khan, President of NEFOMA says, "Residents of Vedantam Society are being harassed for the last two months. There have been many meetings with the district administration, police administration and the builder regarding the problem, but no solution has been found so far."
