The Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) recently participated in World Environment Expo WEE 2022 with their green Garbage Factory project which focuses on making products from single-use plastic. The motive of GNN is to use plastic waste and convert it into decorative pieces, chairs, diyas, and more. Thus, decreasing the burden of waste.

The World Environment Expo(WEE 2022) was a B2B platform for all organizations involved in Environment-friendly initiatives, by putting technology, ideas, and inventions under one umbrella. This year, many innovative businesses working with eco-friendly technologies and products became a part of this event.

Umesh Kumar, the Project Engineer of the Garbage Factory project and SWM Expert says, "The motive behind coming to WEE is to make everyone aware of the vision of GNN. We want to show that we can recycle single-use plastics and make products out of them that are as durable as wooden goods. Thus, eliminating the use of Single-use plastics from the environment and protecting it for the next generation."

As gathered, the GNN's IT-based Decentralized Solid Waste Management Factory's vision is to make Ghaziabad garbage free. Several projects are being run to achieve this by the Municipal Commissioner of Ghaziabad Mahendra Singh Tanwar and SBM Nodal Mithilesh Kumar.
