BIRAC celebrates 10 years with Biotech Startup Expo 2022

Delhi: To mark the completion of ten years of setting up of Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Biotech Startup Expo – 2022 was launched with the theme 'Biotech Startup Innovations: Towards AatmaNirbhar Bharat.' on Thursday, June 9, 2022. The expo has brought a lot to the table this year with several new and innovative products.

An expo was a meeting place for entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, scientists, researchers, bio-incubators, manufacturers, and others. It featured approximately 300 stalls showcasing biotechnology applications in healthcare, genomics, biopharma, agriculture, industrial biotechnology, waste-to-value, and clean energy, among others.

Here at the Expo, the visitors got to experience unlimited choices of exciting products that came with an abundance of benefits.

Alpha Advantech LLP, a DPIIT-approved startup company under startup India and Made in India Mission, uniquely designs Alpha Pots and planters that will make your plant greener with less water supply. These planters are designed to keep optimum growth of plants with the minor use of water and store runoff water during watering cycles for later use in a concealed reservoir. This prevents evaporative loss and is also inaccessible to flies and mosquitoes for breeding. It also conserves and replenishes water through its vapour lock design. This design also provides air and moisture for roots all around, leading to expedited growth of a plant. Farmers can use our technologically advanced planters to increase their income potential.

Another product that can improve the Indian health sector and can easily be successful in villages is Jeevtronics, a social + technology venture. That has developed the world's first dual-powered bi-phasic defibrillator (SanMitra 1000 HCT). This works directly on A-mains and a built-in hand-cranked generator. No more worrying about dead batteries or power cuts! Being a battery-less device, it needs no battery replacement ever.

Moving forward to the medical sector, Jeevtronics SanMitra 1000 HCT is a company that aims to significantly improve access to defibrillators in all low and middle-income worlds which don't have reliable electricity.

In addition, the expo will also witness the launch of an e-Portal of 750 Biotech products, products developed during the 75th year of independence and the Coffee book of 75 Women Biotech Entrepreneurs.
