Saturday mornings make residents of Sector 34, Noida, wince. Reason? Heaps of waste lie scattered on the roads from the the previous day's weekly market. Lovers of fresh morning air are only nauseating by a stench.
Vipin Puri, an avid morning walker, says the stench makes it impossible to walk down the market road on Saturdays.
Waste is found littered around both Block A and Nilgiri Apartments till noon the next day (Saturday). Residents of house numbers A-02 to A-09 suffer the most, with rubbish piled up in front of their homes.
"This has been happening for more than a year. Despite several complaints to Noida Authority, no action has been taken," says MC Bhardwaj, secretary of the sector.
City Spidey took up the issue with the project engineer SK Gupta. "We will have to clean up the mess earlier," he said.
