Valencia Homes: Residents riled because of frequent power cuts

GreNo: The residents of Hawelia Valencia Homes, Sector-01 Greater Noida, are furious and helpless because of the irregular power supply in this unbearable heat. The sad part is that the residents pay their electricity bills in advance in hope that they'll get what they pay for, but they are often disappointed.

The residents alleged that the builder asks them to pay electricity bills in advance, however, he doesn't provide the details of the total amount paid to the NPCL. Residents are complaining that nothing has been done to ensure a smooth power supply 24X7 and no one is doing anything about it.

Rahul Garg, NEFOWA Vice President and resident of Hawelia Valencia Homes, Sector-1, Greater Noida West says, "NPCL and RPSG have made life hell for GreNo West residents with power outrage and low voltage in this scorching heat. NPCL officials are blaming  UPPTCL for the inconvenience while we are paying 29.42+tax per unit DG charges to the builder in advance."

Rahul Garg further informs that under the Electricity Act 2003 and rules, Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has asked the builder to share a copy of the detailed calculation of the amount received from individual consumers and the amount paid to NPCL on a half-yearly basis. However, no such copy is being provided to them.

Manish Kumar, Senior VP, NEFOWA says, "Despite being a no power cut zone, we are facing low voltage and electricity cut for a long durations. There is no one to see, listen to, or work on our issue. We don't know how long will these problems last. Do we have to leave our job and sit on the road for 24 hours power supply? Is anyone listening and seeing? "

Residents here say that due to all these problems, it's very difficult or them to stay in the society. They are on power backup for 3-5 hours every day and the builder and the appointed maintenance team are charging hefty charges in the form of DG charges from residents.
