Noida, sector 122 residents protest against mobile towers installation in area

Residents of Sector-122 protested against the installation of the mobile tower in their residential society on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Residents raised slogans against the Noida Authority during the protest. As gathered, residents feel unsafe from this installation as they feel it would release unhealthy radiations. Moreover, they allege that such towers are encroaching on the green patches in the area.

Residents allege that no information is being given to the RWA about the installation of towers which according to them are being erected very secretly overnight.

Dr Keshav Nathani, a resident of Sector 122, says that a new tower has been installed recently, but the work is not yet completed. Two more towers of the same kind have already been installed in Sector 122. He says, "We are opposing these towers as they are being constructed in the middle of a residential society. The towers are being erected continuously, without the knowledge of the sector residents, and the residents will not tolerate it at all."

Mukta Sharma, a resident of Sector 122 says that two towers have already been installed in A block and C block of Sector 122, yet another tower has been erected in the green belt area overnight. "People come to the park to keep themselves healthy, but the radiation from these mobile towers can make them sick," she says.

Umesh Sharma, the president of Sector 122 RWA, says, "We have registered our complaint with the CEO of Noida Authority, Police and MLAs for removing these towers but no action has been taken. The installation of towers in the sector is being done with the connivance of the mobile company and the Noida Authority. We will continue our protest until all towers are removed completely."
