Rafael Nadal to play Wimbledon 2022

In a prospective good news for tennis fans in general and Rafael Nadal fans in particular, the all time highest  grand slam grosser has given clear indications that he will be participating in the month end Wimbledon 2022.

Nadal's foot injury that has been plaguing his tennis career since 2005, had flared up during his recent French Open 2022 triumph and had put his Wimbledon participation in jeopardy. During his tennis career, even though Nadal has not dominated the Wimbledon's grass surface the way he has done on clay courts, still he has been a formidable force on it, having been a Wimbledon champ on two occasions.

Nadal has appeared in five Wimbledon finals, which by itself is a huge achievement. This is not withstanding the fact that grass is his least favoured surface. The ball skids on the grass and cancels his exceptionally high topspin which is accentuated in clay court where the ball grips the surface. The latest news is that Nadal has gone through some therapy to ease the pain in his foot and it seems to have worked. He has started training on the grass surface in preparation for the Wimbledon. The Nadal fans have their fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
