Greater Noida- What is the point of beautifying bus stops without buses?

Well, it seems to be a great plan, but the sad part is that it does not seem to have any basis in reality. At best it seems to be a fanciful bit of imagination on the part of GreNo West authority with no or little practical use for the residents. We are talking about GreNo authority's plan to modify and beautify  75 bus stops.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, in a tweet, has announced that they have made a special plan to modify and beautify  75 bus stops. These will provide necessary pieces of information about the buses along with the modern facilities such as music, urinal facilities, and charging points. The plan has been made by the Greater Noida Authority to boost the tourism under One District One Product scheme.

Residents of Greater Noida West are questioning the need for the modification of 75 bus shelters by the Greater Noida Authority when there are no proper bus services in the area or any type of public transport facility for the residents. They are expressing their displeasure over with announcement.

We talked to a few residents of GreNo West to understand their views-

Manish Kumar, NEFOWA Senior Vice President and a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 says, "It is an odd exercise. At first, the Authority should provide more public transport infrastructure and then work on modifying bus stops. Here, residents are forced to travel in autos which is unfeasible and expensive. It's a request to the Authority to provide us with proper bus services soon."

Rahul Garg, Vice President of NEFOWA, and a resident of Sector-1 Greater Noida West say, "What is the benefit of modifying the bus stands when the Authority is not providing bus services or any type of public transport to the residents? Autos have a monopoly here and charge as much as they want. When do they think would be the right time to provide public transport facilities?"

Rahul also informs that they also provided route charts to the former CEO of Greater Noida Authority, but so no action has been taken by the authorities so far. "We have submitted route charts to strengthen public transport facilities in GreNo West to the Authority several times. Seems things are simply planned but never implemented by them."
