GreNo West: Residents of Strategic Royal Court 16B raise security issues

Noida: Residents of Strategic Royal Court, 16B no longer feel safe going out after the nightfall. The reason is increasing cases of crime and the alleged lack of street lights. As gathered by residents, cases of chain snatchings have increased in the area, especially in certain areas such as lanes between Panchsheel Greens Villas and under-construction sites such as Ratan Pearls. They also allege that unauthorised market vendors consume liquor and roam the streets which makes them uncomfortable.

Residents allege that insufficient streetlights in this area are boosting criminal activities. They share that while roads have broadened, street lights have not increased.

Kunal Dhamija, a resident of the strategic Royal Court says, “There are no electric poles on one side of the road? While the ones on the opposite end burn alternately. In this scare, we prefer to stay indoors rather than go out in dark. Due to this scarcity of street lights, Criminal activities such as chains snatching have increased."

Pradeep Kumar, Project Manager, Greater Noida Authority. He says, "We will visit the site. If there is a shortage of streetlights, we will put them. We are soon planning to put high mast lights in the Authority park of 16B."

Residents share that vendors have set up unauthorized shops near societies. Residents share that they drink after dark and roam on the roads which makes them uncomfortable.

Jatin Bhatia, Resident of Strategic Royal Court says, “These vendors neither have a license nor do they have permission to put this market. These vendors drink after the sun sets. I don't know if their purpose is to sell goods or have a fun time."
