GreNo West: Residents riled with poorly maintained authority park

GreNo West: The residents of Strategic Royal Court, a residential society in GreNo West, are complaining about the poorly maintained authority park. The residents say that they are planting saplings and watering trees in the park, whereas the responsibility to do so falls on GNIDA.

Residents tell us that anti social elements can be seem roaming around in the park and consuming alcohol in broad daylight. They also complain about a 25 feet deep trench in the park as anyone could fall into it.

Tushar Jain, a resident of Strategic Royal Court says, “How many times can we ask anyone not to come here, people drink alcohol here. We feel unsafe.”

Virendra Joshi, another resident of Strategic Royal Court says, "We are afraid to send our kids to play in the park even in day. There is no lighting, no proper fencing, and no entry-exit gates."

Gaurav Dhawan, another resident of Strategic Royal Court says, "This is a beautiful park. But this also needs little maintenance. There is no jogging track here so we can't go for a walk. There's no one to water the plants. It is not our responsibility."

Jatin Bhatia, a resident says, "People also tried to encroach this place, a temple was tried to construct here overnight, the next day we all gathered and broke it. they were ready to make a big temple here, bells were also hanging. There is no security guard and no gardeners for this place. The boundaries are very small. Anyone can jump inside our society from this authority park to the society premises."

Residents also allege that the open gym equipment are not maintained.

On this, we contacted Kapil DV Singh, Senior Manager, Greater Noida Authority. He says, "The park is developed, the part which has the 25 feet deep trench is not a part of the park, it is barren land for the boundary, the approval is awaited. The staff keeps checking the park from time to time. But this land does not belong to the park. Having received these complaints, I make sure the team will visit soon to further examine the park".

He continues, "About the people consuming alcohol there, this falls under the police, residents should complain to the police if they see something like that happening.
