Supertech Ecovillage 1 : Sinking road, tilted beam, residents afraid

GreNo West: In Supertech Ecovillage 1, GreNo West, ostensibly owing to the ongoing work of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP),  the road in front of Tower D5 and F7 sank in, further tilting a pillar in the basement of the society. The residents are demanding an immediate structural audit of the society as according to them, the foundation of the building is compromised.

According to residents, the linter and one pillar of the basement area have been completely damaged. There is a crack in the pillar that is slowly getting wider. The sunken road leading to gate number one has now been closed and the movement of vehicles has also been stopped there.

Shashi Bhushan, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 says, "Dozens of vehicles pass through Gate No-1 every day. Hundreds of people are living in the tower. In such a situation, if there were to be an accident, it would be massive. Despite this, Supertech Management is in deep sleep."

Abhishek Kumar, another resident of Eco Village 1 and President of NEFOWA says, “ Before anything happens we request the Greater Noida Authority to intervene. The major risk is in towers F5 and F7, I am a resident of F5. To prevent the risk, the entry from gate number 1 towards gate number 2 has been barred for some time. "

While most the society's residents are afraid of any mishap, Ranjana Suri Bhardwaj, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 has a different viewpoint. She says, “There is a problem, but there is nothing to panic about. STP is under construction. Where the beam stands, there was the support of mud but after the digging work, the mud moved away. The project team is aware of this, they have placed the iron rods, so that little support can be given to the beam and tower. Repairing work is going on. The traffic has been diverted so that a major blunder does not take place".

Manish Kumar, another resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 and Senior Vice President of NEFOWA says, “This pillar is in the front, near gate number 1. Towers D5, F5, F7,  E5, E7, F5 and F7 are at major risk. Rod is not a permanent solution. The whole weight falls on the beam and when the beam is affected, the whole foundation is compromised. There was already a seepage issue in this beam."

We contacted V. K. Mishra, Project Head, who says, "There is a little problem and we are aware of this. The team is working on this. Little mud has slid away. We are working on this. From our side, we have placed iron rods for proper support."

On this, we contacted Aman deep Duli, ACEO, Greater Noida Authority and informed him about this situation. In response, a team from the authority inspected the society on June 28, 2022 and will prepare a report by tomorrow.
