"The waterlogging is not only due to the rains, it is also due to the leakage in the pipes.”

GreNo: It rained only a little, but it was enough to expose several problems related to the poor infrastructure in Supertech Ecovillage 1. The residents of Supertech Ecovillage 1 are riled with the aftereffects of the rainfall of July 12, 2022. Reportedly, plaster from the second floor fell down on a resident of the society, causing head injuries. Apart from that, waterlogging in the basement is another major issue.

Rahul Yadav, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 says, “We have made several complaints but no one pays heed to our concerns. Such mishaps can happen to anyone. The basement is waterlogged. While going to the office, our shoes and clothes get wet and dirty. The waterlogging is not only due to the rains, but it is also due to the leakage in the pipes.”

According to Ritesh Singh, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 says, these issues aren't new and seepage through pillars and waterlogging in basements are very common issues in the society. Says he, "The whole B2 tower is in a pitiable condition. We have complained to the project and facility team many times but there has been no development.”

Residents allege that these issues are because of the poor maintenance of the society. However, they also believe that the issues will be resolved soon. Ranjana Suri Bhardwaj, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 says, “The infrastructure of the basement is poor. Waterlogging in the basement can be rectified only after the STP works properly. There is a motor to remove the water from the basement which should be put to use. We have hopes from Nitish Arora, the new director of Project of Supertech EV1 And EV2 that he will look into these issues.”
