GDA pledges support to Save Indirapuram initiative

Residents and AOA heads of six societies in Indirapuram met Dayanand Prasad, GDA OSD, on November 23, asking for support for a cleanliness drive in Ghaziabad.

The drive, called Save Indirapuram, is to commence on November 27, the fourth Sunday of the month, and then be held every second Saturday and every fourth Sunday of the month.

Anika Aren, a resident of ATS Advantage, told City Spidey that the residents requested extra hands and a couple of garbage-disposal vehicles during the meeting.

Initially, Aren explained, the residents would clean up various areas and spread the message that the only way to avoid garbage was not to create it in the first place. This would be followed by several green activities in the neighbourhood. "At the moment, we are looking for maximum participation from residents," she added hopefully.

GC Grand, Aditya Mega City, Rajhans Kutumb, Mahagun Mansion Ph II, Amrapali Green, ATS Advantage and Lotus Pond are some of the societies that have joined hands for the initiative.

Speaking to City Spidey, Prasad confirmed that he was ready to provide extra hands, a few garbage trolleys and a tractor for the drive.
