Noida: The vacant area near the under construction Vedvan park, Sector 78, is being used as a dumping ground and the residents of Sector 78 and 79 are not happy with that. They allege that this is happening because of the lack of proper barricading.
Ranjan Samantaray, a resident of Antariksa Golfview-2, says, "The area is vacant. At night, people come in their vehicles to dump their garbage. Waste from restaurants and construction debris from building sites are also dumped here at night so that no one can oppose."
According to the residents, the issue is not new. Earlier also, the residents had filed a complaint regarding the same to Noida Authority. In response to that complaint, the Authority cleared the area and put a 'no garbage dumping' board there. However, according to Ranjan Samantaray, because there is no proper barricading, people come and still dump their garbage in that area.

Brajesh Sharma, another resident from Antariksh golf view-2 says, "It's very common to see people dumping their garbage there at night. During this monsoon season, insects breed in this garbage, which poses a health threat to us and our kids. It also leads to a foul smell. Something should be done about it as soon as possible."
He adds that various animals like cows and dogs can be seen looking for food in that dumping area. This might lead to them swallowing plastic, which is not good for their health. The residents have taken it to social media to highlight their issue. They demand Noida Authority to take strict action regarding the issue. Residents demand barricading and installation of a signboard in that area.
