Noida: The festival of Raksha Bandha is just round the corner and the markets of Noida are all decked up. There are numerous types of rakhis avaialable in the markets for you to buy. Apart from that, the sweet shops are also offering ghewar and other specialties for the occasion.

Abhishek, a shopkeeper from Atta Market, Sector-18 Noida, says, "In the times of Covid, for the past two years, there was no major celebration of Raksha Bandhan. However, this year, it seems that the festival has returned in all its glory. This year, there is increased demand for Rakhis made of fancy stones."

Another shopkeeper from the same market, Vinay, says, "This year, the Rakhis are costlier than last year due to the rising prices of everything. I have set Rakhi shop for the first time in this market and wish everyone to come and buy Rakhis."

Deepak Kumar, from the market of Sector 12/22, says, "Rakhi is the festival of love between brothers and sisters, and I, as a shopkeeper, always feel so good whenever any festival comes. I feel happy because people are so enthusiastic about this festival. The sale has been good till now."

Sandhya Singh, a customer who was buying Rakhi at the Sector-50 Market in Noida, says, "Rakhi is the perfect occasion to express our love for brothers. Even though it is a one day occasion, I like to prepare for it in the advance. I get rakhis, gifts and sweets."

While the business of rakhi shops, sweet shops and apparel shops is blooming, there is a need to stay conscious as the Covid cases are on a rise again in Delhi NCR. It is advised to follow Covid appropriate behaviour in the markets.
