After the recent spike in Covid cases, the cases have come under control, to some extent. 942 cases and no deaths were recorded in Delhi during the last 24 hours as per the health advisory issued by the Department of Health, Delhi Government on August 21, 2022. The positivity rate is up to 7.25%.

Less than 2000 cases have been reported for the past 7 days. During the recent peak, the highest positivity rate recorded during the current surge of infections was 19.20 per cent when fewer tests were conducted on Independence Day. The highest number of Covid-19 cases recorded in a single day stood at 2,726.

Currently, there are 5141 Covid cases in Delhi. Jere, 3749 are admitted to hospitals and 470 are under home isolation. 305 containment zones have been found across the capital.

As gathered, the spread of the infection is thought to be under control when a positivity rate of 5 per cent or less is seen over two weeks.
