Noida: With the demolition day of the multi-storey Twin Towers nearing, all the preparations are underway. It will take just 12 seconds for this illegal edifice to come down on August 28, 2022, at 2: 30 pm.
Ganesh Prasad Saha, DCP, Traffic Police took a round of the twin tower. As gathered, traffic will be stopped at both ends of the Noida- Greater Noida expressway 15 minutes before the demolition and for the duration, it takes for the dust to settle after the implosion, which is likely to be another 15 minutes.
The police will restrict traffic movement on Subhash Chandra Bose Road in front of the Twin towers to facilitate the agency involved in the demolition to transport explosives for charging the twin towers on the route.
Ganesh Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) says, “The road opposite Supertech Twin Towers-93 ATS Road will be shut down within the next two days and will remain shut until the day of the demolition. Additionally, on the demolition date, the two ends of Noida-Greater Noida expressway will be shut for 15 minutes before the demolition and 15 minutes after until the dust and debris settle down.”
He added, “These precautions have been taken to avoid any crowd which may gather on the demolition day and avoid any untoward accident in the area."
The twin towers, Apex and Ceyane were scheduled to be demolished on August 21, 2022, with a cushion period of one week till August 28, as per the directions of the Supreme Court on May 17, 2022.
