Aditya Mega City: RWA members booked in a tussle over organising a function

Indirapuram: In the Aditya Mega City Society in Vaibhav Khand, Indirapuram, an internal dispute between Kailash Gupta, a resident of the society and the RWA has come to light. The dispute arised as the RWA allegedly thrashed and harassed a few people who had come from outside to attend a religious event organised by the said resident. A case has been registered in the matter in the Indirapuram Police Station where two members of the RWA and others have been charged.

Kailash Gupta, a resident of Aditya Mega City Society, organised an event on August 3, 2022 in the society premises. However, according to him, the RWA of the society asked him to organise the event under RWA's banner, to which he refused. Following this, the RWA allegedly tried to create obstacles in the organisation of the event which led to alleged physical harassment.

Kailash says, "We were denied the permission by the RWA to organise the event in the open gallery of the society, where all the events would usually be organised. We then decided to organise it in the temple of the society. On July 26, 2022, the banners we had put on inside the society about the event were taken down on the orders of the RWA."

Later, Kailash says, they were denied access to the community centre to arrange accommodation for people who had to come from outside to organise and participate in the event. He says, "We had provided the ID proofs of outsiders who were attending the event. We were denied access to the community centre. We didn't object to any of this as all of this is under the RWA authority. However, during the event, some members of the RWA harassed the people who had come from outside to attend the event. They made videos of these people without their consent and even harassed them physically."

Kailash has filed an FIR against two RWA members who were identified. He says that there were a few more people who haven't been identified yet. He says the RWA did all of this just because he refused to organise the event under RWA's banner.

When we tried reaching Anurag Nagar, one of the RWA members against whom the FIR has been filed, he refused to comment citing the matter as sub Judice.
