Chup: Revenge Of The Artist trailer out

With his upcoming film 'Chup' filmmaker R Balki, known for light-hearted films such as Shamitabh and Paa, has ventured into unexplored territory.

Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, starring Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salmaan, was released on Monday, September 5, 2022. The movie, which calls itself a romantic psychopath thriller, pays homage to Guru Dutt and his 1959 masterpiece 'Kaagaz Ke Phool'. Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary are also featured in the movie. The R Balki-directed movie is scheduled to open in theatres on September 23.

The trailer, which was made public today, follows the transformation of an artist into a dreadful serial killer. In a horrible turn, the anonymous serial killer inscribes glowing reviews on critics' bodies. The voiceover in the trailer's second half says, "Unki sabse badi film Kaagaz Ke Phool ko critics ne trash kar diya (Guru Dutt's biggest film Kaagaz Ke Phool got trashed by the critics)," as they discussed Kaagaz ke Phool. Dulquer highlights that he became so depressed after that that he never produced another film. 'Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaaye Toh' from Kaagaz Ke Phool then begins to play in the background as various shots of Sunny running with a gun, a bouquet of papers (a reference to Kaagaz Ke Phool), and more are shown.

The film starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt has a unique plot written by R Balki. Sunny Deol experiences the chills, but Dulquer and Shreya's deep connection lightens the mood. In the film, the director also included a tribute to Guru Dutt using film clips of the renowned director.

The movie's dialogue and script were co-written by Rishi Virmani, Raja Sen, a former critic now a writer, and Balki. Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, co-produced by Pranab Kapadia and Anirudh Sharma, features music by Amit Trivedi and Vishal Sinha is the director of photography (DOP).
