The most special part about her weight loss journey is that she didn't put herself on a very strict restrictive diet. "I eat what I like to eat. If I do any kind of restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I just eat less of it. I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I've lost a little bit of weight, but that's the way I've done it," she said in a press interview. For her, weight loss was not challenging but was a simple baby step one at a time.

After giving birth to her second kid, Spencer, in September 2020, Kaling, who has been showing off her smouldering figure in recent Instagram posts, made the decision to pay closer attention to what she eats. She gave birth to my kid during the pandemic's first year. This almost resulted in longer maternity leave.

But after life returned to normal, Kaling understood that her lockdown lifestyle was neither particularly healthy nor sustainable. "When the world started coming back a little bit, I thought, 'This kind of eating what appears, not taking any consideration for what I'm eating, is probably not the way to go,'" she said in an interview.

By revealing the most effective method for losing weight, Kaling made it easier for all working single mothers.

Since she was in her early 20s, Kaling has prioritised exercise, but she no longer views it as a way to punish herself. The actress defines herself as a complete amateur in working out and staying active through running, walking, yoga, pilates, strength training, tai chi, and other activities.

Key Learnings
In her 20s, Mindy had a more antagonistic connection with fitness. She thought a workout had to be punished, like 45 minutes of running, and you had to hate it the whole time. But things are different now, and today she doesn't have that relationship with exercise anymore, she revealed.
She also ensures to take some time out for walking every day.

"Sometimes I'll be like, 'Well, I have four different times today where I have 10 minutes, so let's just walk instead of sitting down and checking Instagram. So instead of it being like one chunk of exercise at the beginning of the day or none at all, I'm now just deciding that I'm going to be a more active person all the time," she said in an interview.
