Delhi: The towering walls of Red Fort in the heart of Old Delhi hold an abundance of history. A significant reminder of the glorious Mughal Era, these walls also witnessed the fall of the Mughal Empire and the rise of the British Rule in India. While the city that one laid within these walls is no where to be found after the uprising of 1857, the barracks in Red Fort are a reminder of how British Rule changed almost everything. These barracks, once an abode to the British Army, has been converted into many galleries and museums, with the history of Indian Freedom struggle on display. In the barrack built by the British which houses the Red Fort Centre, the first floor now has the 'Interpretation Centre' where one can go on a historical tour of Delhi.
