Every year, Delhiites look forward to the arrival of Durga puja as it brings waves of festivities and splendour to the capital. The vibrant presence of the Bengali community organizes pandals where everyone revels while seeking the blessings of Maa Durga.

Matri Peeth, Greater Noida West, Kalibari is gearing up to celebrate Durga Puja with great enthusiasm after a Covid hiatus. Several special programs are being planned to celebrate the Durga puja with full glory. The puja will be a 7 days mega celebration starting from September 29, 2022, to October 5, 2022, at J S Garden, near Hanuman Mandir. This is the biggest Durga Puja Pandal in Greater Noida West, which is managed by Bengali families from 72 various societies in Greater Noida West.

As gathered, Khuti Puja was organized on September 18, 2022, which marked the beginning of the celebration, which will be followed by Mahalaya (Tarpan Bidhi) on September 25, 2022. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Mahalaya is the day when Goddess Durga is created by Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. It is marked as the day when Maa returned from Kailash Parvat to the Prithvi Lok with her divine powers.

The 7-day Puja festival will start from Maha Chaturthi (Sept 29) till the bidding of the Goddess on Maha Dashami (Oct 5) with the hope and belief, 'Asche Bochor Aabar Hobe' which means next year, Durga maa will come again and we will celebrate Durga Puja.

Various cultural programmes will be organized by the Greno West Residents such as a performance by Matri Peeth Band, Humsafar Musical Group, talent spectrum, artists from Delhi NCR and Kolkata like Live Mahalaya by Swaralipi Music Academy, Ballet Painting by TSF group, Subhamoy Sen, Esha Banerjee, Rajarshi Debray, Suman Majumder (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist), Suparna Lahiri and an act by magician Sachin Paul.
Apart from this, joy rides and food joints will be arranged at the pandal.

The Bengali community of Greater Noida West will be celebrating Durga Puja for the second consecutive year in the Matri Peeth. The Matri Peeth Greater Noida West Kalibari was founded on December 17th, 2019 to build the largest Kali Bari in Greater Noida West. It is a charitable, socio-cultural and religious organization that aims to promote Bengali culture and diversity in the capital.
